What Matters Most in Our Lives

We are the Mitterbergers. That’s Elfi and Christian with their four girls and granddaughter Ella.

Christian, the senior farmer, has always been a passionate farmer. With a lot of heart and dedication, he still helps out on the farm and mainly takes care of our cattle. We have a small suckler cow herd consisting of Simmental and Charolais cattle.

Elfi, the senior farmer’s wife, is the sunshine at the Ottingerhof. She lovingly looks after the house and the farm. In summer, everything around the farm is in bloom, and every Monday the wonderful scent of her fresh sourdough wood-fired oven bread fills the air. 

 

 

In 2020, Sandra took over the farm. She originally always wanted to emigrate and not work in agriculture. After studying in the Netherlands, she worked for several years in different countries, where she realized how much she missed working in nature. So she decided to return to Carinthia and take over the farm. Alongside the varied tasks on an organic farm, she has also been pursuing her passion for several years and built an innovative indoor farm on the property for growing organic sprouts. There, she cultivates fresh, healthy organic sprouts year-round for restaurants in the region. Of course, our family and our guests are also supplied with fresh vitamins.

 

 

The Ottingerhof is the center of our lives—our home, where we are deeply rooted—and we are happy to share this wonderful place, nature, and the animals with our guests.
